The Woodwardia Manifesto

I’m a museum curator in Woodward, Oklahoma. I’ve been at my current post for over four years. There certainly is NO place like western Oklahoma.

Woodwardia has become my nickname for this wonderful northwestern Oklahoma town. With a population of about 14,000, it actually serves as a commercial hub for 50,000 area residents.

Beginning as a crossroad of the Fort Reno Military Road and the Southern Kansas Railway in 1887, Woodward continues to be a crossroads with highways 412/270/3/183 and 34 all coming into town.

If you are interested in Woodward area history, check out my book entitled Woodward County, which was published in February 2009!
